Afghani brothers Aasif and Babur are arrested as illegal immigrants in a border control raid but Babur escapes, getting knocked down by Chris's car. Chris is sympathetic to his plight and calls Emma for help but when Babur takes off they go to the police station. Emma sees the poorly Aasif and has him taken to hospital where he dies. However the Reids learn that the brothers' status has changed and Babur has leave to stay, but has been exploited by his crooked gang-master Joe, who has kept him ignorant of the fact.
