Emma receives a letter in the post from Sam,asking her to get rid of his journals in which he set out his feelings but Chris catches her shredding them and accuses her of trying to erase all memories of his father. Mrs Tembe is visiting Gordon when the bishop calls. Mrs Tembe tries to pass herself off as little more than a dedicated parishioner but the bishop can tell that there is more going on between them and Gordon ends up kissing her. Daniel,meanwhile,is unable to attend a meeting when he gets stuck in a phone-box.
