The Nostalgia Critic Dragon's Lair (2007– ) Online

As punishment for poking fun at Don Bluth too many times, the Critic is forced to play his innovative gift to the gaming world: Dragon's Lair. While a very interesting game to watch, it's insanely hard and frustrating to play. As if that weren't enough, while the Critic is trying to play the game, Mr. Bluth delights in tormenting and taunting the Critic just as much as his creation does.

So far the NC this year has slowly gotten worse and worse. I'll say it started with his clip reviews... as in not actually showing clips from the movie but rather have his actors act out scenes from the movie but in a way that only bashes the film (sometimes unfairly) and literally puts it on easy street for him to mock, with Fury Road and Hocus Pocus it's literally a chase where they go past things from the movie, comment on them and then go onto the next thing. Well, after that I noticed his reviews were getting less and less funny until this, the point where I say that it's been a great few years watching every episode up until that point but, I'm done.

What makes this so bad? Well, how about The NC whines the entire time about while innovative Dragon's Lair is, it's so hard. Being that his comparison of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Silver Surfer and Zelda II blindfolded is just the cusp of the difficulty" just makes me immediately jump to the conclusion that he barely played any of those games and just watched AVGN. BUT if an unfunny game review is one thing he also managed to get Don Bluth into it and I want to demonstrate that I like what I've seen of his movies! He looks like a nice guy and always manages to deliver top-of-the range 2D animation. But the entire thing is a plug for a Dragon's Lair movie....

Okay, this is like the clip thing always pissing me off. If you want to just talk about the movies and how stupid Jurassic World is and how bad Hocus Pocus is. That's completely fine, he's ripped into movies that I've liked in the past and they were funny! But my simple question is why not a V-Log in character? You could still get laughs and it doesn't present the thought I usually get whenever I see one with "Oh god! What are you doing?!" especially on the actors' part considering they do seem talented enough to have a career outside of just this.

My point? If the end result was to get people to donate to the Dragon's Lair movie as opposed to... You know? Watch something funny then my simple question is why go to the trouble saying the complaints with the games if you want people to donate? That's horrible advertising even if The NC and his brother when breaking character say nothing but praise to Don Bluth aside from the NC's three older reviews. I'm not kidding when I say in order to promote it The NC whines about it for 11 minutes while promoting the kick-starter for 2.

Okay, finally the redeeming features...I guess seeing Don Bluth is one thing... I don't have anything else.
