Donnie Wahlberg is not a happy camper in this Blue Bloods episode, he is told that for today his partner is going to be his new commanding officer Latanya Richardson Jackson. Wouldn't you know it, they happen upon a drive by shooting near a public school.

Will Estes and Vanessa Ray do some toe stepping themselves. They are the first responders to a body found in a park which to all intents looks like a suicide. The assigned detective Nick Dillenburg just wants to close the book, but Estes and Ray both don't like it. Guess who turns out to be right? Still being right isn't always being smart and safe. Good thing Estes has a hook at 1 Police Plaza.

Finally Tom Selleck and Bridget Moynahan clash over a new policy issued by the New York County District Attorney. Moynahan is truly compromised here, she's seeing her boss socially. Family dinner at the Reagans is far more tense than usual.

Donnie Wahlberg's style is cramped, Will Estes is doing the cramping in his situation. And Bridget Moynahan is just hoping things work out on their own between her boss and her dad.

Good Blue Bloods episode all around.

Good plot line in this one, with Erin's boss and Frank having a run-in. Nice to see Jamie and Eddie solving a case (though it's way past time for Jamie to be promoted.) Danny and his new boss are starting to work through their disagreements. The plot line with the young man who had been seeing a gang leader's girlfriend was very effective, and sad. I hope there is some follow-up with Joy and Lieutenant Carver in the future. Everyone's problems seemed to be resolved nicely by the end, though the scene on the pier at the end bothered me, I guess because I have fished all my life. Their fishing poles didn't have any line...and you would think they would have since Frank mentioned that Erin had used braided line. Very satisfying Blue Bloods episode; not the best of them, but still better than anything else on TV right now.
