When Nathan Ford, a former insurance company investigator, is approached by a man asking him to help retrieve some stolen property, he is dubious. When he finds out that the job requires him to supervise and maintain control of three known thieves that he himself caught in the course of his insurance investigations, he's more than dubious. However, the job offers him the opportunity to get some of his own back from the insurance company that allowed his son to die, so he takes it despite his misgivings. When his doubts prove to be well-founded, he persuades his reluctant colleagues to unite once more to reach a more "equitable" settlement.

The Librarians movie poster can be seen in the background of the scene when Victor Dubenich gets out of the black car to meet with Sophie. The TV series The Quest - Die Serie (2014) was created by John Rogers (who was a creator of Leverage), is produced by Leverage's Dean Devlin, and stars Christian Kane.

Tony Bill, who played Pierson, also directed an episode of Leverage later in Season 1 - "The Snow Job".
Saul Rubinek also starred with Timothy Hutton in the TV mystery series A Nero Wolfe Mystery (2001).
The code used to open the secure server room door started with 8675309, the infamous number for "Jenny" in the song by Tommy Tutone. Tommy Heath, the lead singer, was a computer analyst in Portland, Oregon.
