By the time this movie premiered Leslie Caron's husband had divorced her, as she had been in a long term affair with Warren Beatty. Because Beatty had been determined the reason for the divorce, the British court ordered him to pay for all of the court costs.
Warren Beatty only agreed to do this film for the money, which he put toward production of his 1967 masterpiece Boni ir Klaidas (1967).
The cast includes three Oscar-nominated stars: Warren Beatty, Leslie Caron, and Bessie Love.
John Barry composed a rejected score.
Although passed by the BBFC in November 1965, Promise Her Anything was not released in the UK until it opened at Paramount's Plaza Theatre in London's West End on 24th November 1966. It went out on general release on the ABC circuit in February 1967 as the bottom half of a double bill with Drop Dead Darling.
