6 reviews before me, clearly all fake - this film being their only review. This is a low budget film with writing about as good as a 5th grader. The only redeeming quality was the decent acting and ok directing. Dumb comedy/horror we've all seen many times before, only this one is bad. Ignore the fake reviews before me and I'm sure after me, and watch something worthwhile - that doesn't require fake reviews. 2/10 from me

It's not saying that this is a horrible movie, but all these 10 stars reviews hailing it as "brilliant" and "perfect" are obviously fake.

First off, it's not funny at all. There is zero comedy. This is a low-key, cheesy horror movie with only a few scares. I guess that qualifies it as a thriller, but barely. The acting and cinematography are alright, but really nothing special. The story however is it's high and low points at the same time. While there is some originality here, it boils down to a confusing, convoluted mess in the final act. The suspense never hits any high octane levels of intensity and as original as it is, it's still kinda predictable.

I applaud them for trying something a little different, but ultimately it's a watered-down horror movie with a decent plot that is fairly forgettable. 5/10

These 9 and 10 star reviews have to be from people associated with the film. Nobody else who isn't clinically insane would give it more than 5. There are a couple of good lines but overall it's not funny. The plot is so stupid that you don't care enough about the characters for it to be scary. The acting and cinematography at least aren't too bad - but it doesn't matter because the script is such a mess. Please avoid this movie, you'll hate yourself afterwards if you don't.

Cannot get into it. the style of over acting and writing not interesting on screen. I predict a 3.8 to 4.8 imdb future. fast forwarding doesn't help. be watchable for a few, but not many in horror/suspense/comedy will like it

I'm not sure what's going on with all the haters among these user reviews, but this is a pretty darn good movie. It's an independent film, surely low budget, without a major studio behind it. It looks like it was filmed entirely on location (and maybe only two locations at that). So, no, guys, you're not going to have the editing and cinematography of a Titanic.

What you do have is an engaging story that's well acted and hangs together throughout. There are some good scares and some big laughs. I did not see the ending coming and I really think anyone claiming they did is either lying or lucky. The best part of this movie, though, is the gradual development of the characters and the relationships they had (and have) with each other -- and how this affects the plot. That's an impressive feat in a relatively short thriller movie.

This movie holds your interest and it's fun. It easily rates 9/10 on an indie film scale. If you've got ten bucks and ninety minutes to spare, it will be time and money well spent. Sit back, relax, and enjoy!!

Complete waste of time, storyline was sketchy, acting was below average and ending was as dull as s butter knife. Very easy to see that any review greater then maybe a 5 has to be faked! Do yourself a favor and pass on this film...

I was surprised by this low budget indie - it was funny and the acting was good and the dialogue was snappy. It wasn't entirely horror and wasn't entirely a comedy but surprisingly right in the middle. I would say it's worth renting.

A solid, well made film. Some of the dialogue is kind of cheesy and the actors talk a little too fast at times, but it's a pretty enjoyable watch. The effects are great, the cinematography is great, the acting is solid. My only gripe is that the foreshadowing is a little heavy and I figured out what was going on in the first 20 minutes. I recommend this movie, though. It's pretty damn good.

This movie had some potential but when you don't care about the editing or acting...this is what happens. What a waste of time. And of course the first few reviews were 10/10, Excellent !! Outstanding!! ...give me a break! A sad piece of acting and editing.

The worst part about the review system is that people put too much faith and base their opinions from the outset on these reviews. I say try watching the movie first and develop your own opinions. I completely believe that some of these high ratings are genuine. The perfect ratings may be due to exuberance, but genuine nonetheless.

I personally thought the movie was brilliant. I thought the acting was spectacular and I thought it was well written. For me personally, it was suspenseful from start to finish, and it was intelligent. This wasn't your typical gore fest of a horror movie where the characters are completely oblivious to what's going on and the killer just wants to kill just to kill.

The plot is that a group of old college friends have a reunion of sorts when one of their motley crew dies. They gather for his funeral at his home in the Wisconsin wilderness, being brought back together for the first time in years. It immediately becomes evident that each character is unique, with their own sets of troubles and insecurities. The actors also brilliantly portray the difficulties of old college friends being reunited after years of being apart. They perfectly portray the dynamics of the old group, with much banter amongst them, but also the bad blood and bitter feelings that have developed from both the drifting apart and from old memories that the characters have spent years stewing on.

I won't spoil anything further about the plot, as I strongly encourage people to watch the movie and decide for themselves whether or not they liked it. However, I will say that the setting and the actors create a very creepy and suspenseful air, perfectly demonstrating the awkwardness of the situation that brought them together. You may love the movie as I did or you may hate it. As every person is different, I usually say don't judge something based solely on reviews.

This film reminded me of the Duplas Brothers films, like THE PUFFY CHAIR and BAGHEAD. Shot mostly in one location and a heavy focus on the complexity of relationships in a group. I love seeing films like that, where major effort is given with very little resources. It's the true sprit of filmmaking. The twist ending was a great bonus.

This film is genuinely my favorite film this year so far. The writing, directing, acting, cinematography are all fantastic. The plot twists and turns and takes you to places you don't expect it to, which is hard in this era where films are often so predictable. It's beautifully shot, and you really feel like you're alone in the woods with them. The cast - led by Carrie Preston, Rob Benedict, Seana Kofoed - really sell the film. Congrats to Caitlin Koller on a fantastic film.

This is a MUST see.

At first I thought I was watching The Big Chill, but it eventually rolled into something else. Something I was not expecting, so I guess I'll give it credit for sneaking up on me. There were a few comedic moments to break the tension, but I wouldn't label this a comedy at all. It's a drama with a dash of horror, and a sprinkling of Sci-Fi. The acting was as good as the script would allow, and considering the direction it was going, it was more than adequate.

This is the kind of film that isn't for everyone. I didn't regret watching it.

Honestly, the most unpleasant people I've ever tried to watch in a film. Plus,!!, the dialogue is often hard to understand, just rubbish. How this film gets anything beyond one star is a mystery, other than people involved in the production.

I found it a thriller more than a horror but loved it. Carrie Preston was a psycho and did a great job and her character was so believable. I loved the cast!

Just trash cinimontogrophy was OK the plot was so disgraceful. You can fast forward and nothing will get you to stop. You won't stop fast forwarding till the credits

Thirty Miles blew me away! The characters are expertly drawn and beautifully performed. The script is funny, tight, and smart. The horror is horrifying - but not too much for this squeamish fan. It's a fast moving thriller full of drama and suspense. I can't wait for more from this directing / writing team. Brilliant!

This is a really fun film for horror fans, especially if you like the cabin the woods type thriller. It'll creep you out, freak you out and then gross you out for good measure.

Its not bad. I watched Holmes and watson 2018 and it was surprisingly funny. Of course a lot of Brits revirewed and gave it a lot of ????'s down. But it was typical Ferrell and J.C.Riley, funny af. As for 30 miles its not s funny but low key good. Im giving it 8*'s because Brits have a weird sense of humor. They hate Hollywood, my home and I know comedy well

Fans of the horror and sci-fi genres always seem more polarized to me. Even discounting the glowing (fake?) reviews, which seem to incite others to give really bad grades to "even things out". To me this was not a terrible film, it had some thought and ideas, although they were derivative of other psycho-horror stories. The characters are a bit heavy handed/cliché. But there is a point to not really caring about them, or "caring" in the wrong way (i.e., who goes next?), that makes it worthwhile.

You know how a film is so hyped you have to see it and then you are slightly disappointed it didn't live up to your expectations? 30 Miles from Nowhere is the exact opposite of this! I literally didn't want it to end. The characters were so relatable, a group of old friends who just pick right back up and act as if no time has passed. Carrie Preston hits it out of the park, giving the perfect "oddly creepy" performance that sucks you in from the beginning. This film is beyond a pleasant surprise, it is a fresh mix of campy, suspenseful and always entertaining. I loved it!

30 Miles is a gem! Unexpected twists, eerie scenery and a great cast! Perfect for long-time horror fans AND first-timers.Great combo of comedy and horror.
