Gladys Cosgrove (Loretta Young) is a movie theatre box-office cashier who has to contend with the unwanted advances of a gangster, 'Doc' Striker (Matthew Betz) but also with a crooked uncle, John Cosgrove (Ralph Lewis) who is stealing the box-office money.
