There is an odd Addams Family connection, as both of the sons of the only actors to play Gomez Addams (Mackenzie Astin and nm1038376) appear in the film.
The piano Mario teaches Jerry on is the actual piano used by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco and the likes of John Williams.
The live performance in the nightclub was a real poem by Christopher Redman and was filmed in its entirety. Later additional scenes were shot and it was made into the 2018 short film 'The Poet' which ended up screening at festivals and winning multiple awards.
