This French-Canadian crime drama weaves Amerindian legends in Guillaume Beauchemin's narrative, a man who, having had the time to weigh his past after serving 10 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit then several in exile in South America, returns to the Sorel islands that were once the center of his world, taking his 12-year old granddaughter, Nathalie, on his harried drive and his ultimate journey, facing Rosario Dubuc, the man who provided the false testimony that lead to Guillaume's incarceration. Along the way, they are harassed by the occupants of another car whose own carelessness results in their having a mishap involving a truck, leaving the hooligans humiliated and fuming in their damaged car as Guillaume and Nathalie continue unharmed.
