If you are sensitive and believe that some topics are taboo, then you may want to avoid Jimmy Carr. If however you are prepared to laugh at things you know you shouldn't and maybe even parts of your own personality, then Jimmy Carr comes highly recommended. There was no part of his set that I didn't find my self laughing at. Jimmy Carr is a master of the double entendre and his delivery is timed to perfection. His manner is well rehearsed but still has the ability to appear 'off the cuff' in its casual rhythm. He has the uncanny ability to lull one into believing they are about to witness something of a refined nature which soon becomes scatological. I am sure this is in part to his cultured tone and precise English pronunciation. It makes the punch lines all the more shocking. Try not to be too offended, everyone is fair game in this performance.

This is probably the first time that Americans had seen the brilliance and dirty humour of Jimmy Carr. He did repeat a couple I have heard from his two live stand up shows, but they still make me laugh a lot. The fact that this was on the same channel that creates South Park, Comedy Central was quite interesting. He didn't say normal English all the time because obviously Americans wouldn't understand words he would say, e.g. fanny probably means something else over there. There were a couple of times where his voice went up quite high, but then again that is the idea and he is a bit posh when you think about it. He is just a perfect comedian, and also TV host for great shows, e.g. Distraction, The Friday Night Project, 8 Out of 10 Cats, and 100 Greatest lists. Very good!
