Sing Over Me (2014) Online

Since the early 1990s Christians all over the world have been singing the songs of modern-day psalmist, Dennis Jernigan. His music and ministry, sparked by his lifelong struggle with homosexuality, have lead him on a remarkable journey of redemption and hope. Raised in a Christian home, Jernigan identified himself as gay at a young age and constantly feared the persecution of the church. Years of depression and despair followed as he tried to lead a double life, while secretly battling his desires. Through it all music remained the one thing he could find peace in, and it was through music that God changed him in ways he could have never imagined.

I'm a devout Christian as well. I don't agree that this movie is a man spouting homophobic propaganda. This is a talented and earnest man recounting his history and life. At approximately 40 minutes in, there was a part where a facebook homose xual reached out to him about his "conversion" and he responded to him. Not with words about God's wrath, but about God's love and ability to change him.

When one becomes a professing Christian, that person becomes changed. We are all broken. Whether one is a homosexuality, adultery, addicted to pornography, gluttony or whatever. It's all Sin to Him.

What is expressed in this movie is how Dennis Jernigan found freedom in Him. Could this be offensive to some people? Yes. By understanding all sin is offensive to God.

It's worth watching.

As a devout Christian, (my ENTIRE LIFE and straight my WHOLE LIFE as well) happily married to my husband and we have two beautiful children God blessed us with, I find this to be a terrible example of Christs love and acceptance. **THIS IS HOMOPHOBIC PROPAGANDA, NOT A GODLY TESTIMONY!!!** The focus starts to shift from God to homophobia SO quickly it's ridiculous. If your trying to find Gods love and acceptance for who he made you to be DO NOT WATCH THIS RUBBISH!! I made it 40mins in before I started crying and had to leave just thinking of how much pain, heartache and harm this kind of blasphemy causes to those in the LGBTQ community. God is love, not a parent only capable of conditional love and unobtainable acceptance.

THIS MOVIE IS AMAZING. I have serious doubts about the validity of the other user review, as what was displayed throughout this movie is exactly opposite of what they seem to claim.

Regardless, this is a personal testimony of one man's journey in life, his struggles, his victory, and the relationship he has with the TRUE GOD.

If you feel your identity is given you by humans and you're not worth it, don't listen.. Instead let God define who you are in His Love for you..

..you can find freedom, He does love you. Don't give up.

God bless you
