The Playlist reported in April 2018 that The Laundromat is "gearing up for a fall shoot" and promises that "a powerhouse cast is waiting in the wings", though exactly which actors will be involved remains a mystery for now.
Riley Keough was in talks to join the cast, in what would've been her fourth collaboration with Steven Soderbergh, but she became unavailable due to scheduling conflicts with A24's "Zola."
