Birdemic: Experience Tour (2011)

This fun featurette can be found on the release of BIRDEMIC: SHOCK AND TERROR. This here runs just 8-minutes but is rather fun as director James Nguyen takes his film on the road to various midnight screenings across the globe. This includes the IFC Center in New York City, the Alamo Drafthouse, The Music Box in Chicago and even locations as far apart as San Francisco and England. If you've seen the film then you probably already know its reputation as being one of the worst films ever made so I enjoyed this just because of how the director seems to be eating up the attention even if it's for a negative reason. It was rather funny seeing him address these sold-out crowds and even funner getting to see stuff like the crowds going wild during certain parts of the film. Both lead actors from the movie are also on hand and it's easy to see that both are nearly speechless or at least aren't sure what to say about the film and the fact that people paid to watch it. If you're a fan of the film then this here is certainly an interesting featurette that will keep a smile on your face.

This breezy and enjoyable 8-minute documentary centers on theatrical screenings of the gloriously awful "Birdemic: Shock and Terror" held all over the world in such places as Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles, Montreal, and even London, England. Director James Nyugen attended a lot of these screenings and participated in rowdy Q&A sessions with enthusiastic audiences; Nyugen comes across as a real good sport as he relishes the attention his film has received as a latter-day camp classic, signs autographs, poses for photos with fans, and happily answers the most inane questions with some choice replies (for example, when one guy asks Nyugen "Why is your movie so awesome?," he responds that it's because it was done with honesty and sincerity!). Moreover, leads Alan Bagh and Whitney Moore can also be seen at several of these screenings having a whale of a good time. Naturally, the appreciative audiences hoot, holler, and break out in applause at appropriate moments during these screenings. Worth a watch for aficionados of the movie.
