Reflections of a Private Eye (2016) Online
Dick Nicely is gunned down in the comfort of his own home. As he lies there bleeding all over his floorboards, Nicely recalls the case that led to his death: a tail job for a classy dame named Brigid Astor, who thought her husband was stepping out on her. Turns out the husband ain't the adulterous type and the dame ain't so classy. But then, Brigid has her own story to tell: a deadly ride through the post-war underworld of gangsters, showbiz and forbidden love. It seems that all the players want to get their hands on a mysterious and elusive briefcase. But what's inside, and more importantly what's it worth?

Charles Burchfield's painting "Rainy Night" (1929-1930) was used as a color guide.
The vintage car featured is a 1937 Austin 14/6. As Nicely's car it was mostly filmed outside and from the front; as Brigid's car it was mostly filmed inside and from the rear.
When characters use Nicely's name, it almost always doubles as an adverb (eg. "Show us your hands, Nicely").
Shot from May to August 2015. An unfinished cut of the film was screened at the only sold-out event of the Glasgow Short Film Festival in March 2016. The soundtrack was completed in February 2018.
