Stephen Harrington, a friend of Leo, is concerned that his daughter Rachel, an aid worker, has gone missing in Zambia. Leo and his colleagues fly to Africa where Rachel's corpse is discovered. It seems that she was investigating the deaths of local villagers and may have been silenced. The scene in which Nikki identifies a murderer by the flies attracted to the traces of blood on his blade is a direct reference to the first Forensic Entomologist, Song Ci, who, as early as 1247, identified a murderer by the flies attracted to the traces of blood on his sickle.

This episode is set in Zambia, which is the birthplace of series regular William Gaminara.

The precedent had been set a few years previously to end the series with an episode set abroad. Naturally it has a very different flavour, the familiarity of Britain is switched for the dramatic wilderness of Africa.

The story is good, it has a degree of intrigue, and features some interesting characters, although both Patrick Baladi and Robert Pugh seem to lose their accents at times.

Personally I felt it could have been a little more dramatic, given the apparent corruption, violent gangs, it could have been dramatised a little bolder.
