South African film industry is still growing and recently shone at the Oscars. Then this movie (doesn't even deserve the title because it is despicable horrible) came along and tarnished that image. The dialogue is the worst I've heard. Funny enough because the script-writer is none other than Elsabe Roux who has graced our small SA soapie credits with her name.

A lot can be said about the crew that worked on this movie. The director having worked on movies such as Yesterday and Cry The Beloved Country... this movie also messes up that image.

The casting was bad as well. Collin Moss doesn't have the physical appearance of a provincial rugby player, let alone of a Springbok; which it what he wants to accomplish (being in the national squad). The talented actors who have made names in the industry must have joined the cast to make sure that bills are paid.

This is the one to avoid. It deserves all the Razzie Awards!

I really am trying to support the local film industry to the best of my ability but ish, why? Tsotsi - great film, Red Dust - amazing. Darryl Roodt is a very capable director and very amiable man - but Darryl please! Yesterday was little more than an exercise in maudlin political correctness and this seems more interested in cross promotional Spur marketing than actually being a good film. I think it speaks volumes that this film only opening "prophetically enough" at Number Ten at the local box office. Sheesh, and why oh why do casting directors insist on using Colin Moss as a "lead" for God's sake. The man is a very good Television Show presenter NOT an actor.

It's like casting Ryan Seacrest as an American football star. Moss doesn't even look the part clocking in a "towering" 5 foot 8 (I stand to be corrected but he is pretty short) Darryl, please we know you're a good director and can make good films: Cry the Beloved Country, The Stick, Place of Weeping et al. You're too good for this material stop prostituting your abilities, pretty please!

When i heard Number 10 was in filming i was very interested.Being a major supporter of the South African movie industry, I could not hold in the anticipation but was regrettably disappointed, I have never been so compelled to state my opinion in the past, as in this case. Colin Moss is out of his depth, great idols presenter , one dimensional performance( at least in this role). His inability to show a "realness" in the the character conflict is undoubtedly obvious. The best performance is given by Shannon Ezra, what a gem she is and helps grip the audience back in to the film. The supporting actors do a great job but if the lead actor isn't up to standard it overshadows their performance. The film tries to "glamourise" a part of South African society that isn't glamorous, the film should of been based on the Super 14, an exciting and well known competition, not a b-grade comp. Darrel Roodt a generally a good director, he fails to capture the essence of rugby and poetic movement that is associated with it. He also fails to decide whether its a love story, rugby movie or father son conflict. This movie takes away some of the confidence Tsotsi instilled in the South African Movie Going Public. See it and make up your mind for yourself!

It's a movie starring South African hunk Colin Moss(He has been the presenter of the SA idols for 2 years running). It started slowly, but once it got pace it was amazing! The movie seem to have all the elements of an amazing sports drama, yet it offers more than the usual clichés one would expect from a sports movie. It is cleverly written and it is clearly one of the most mainstream commercial movies I have seen to come out of South Africa. Colin Moss is superb as James Kramer and Shannon Esra impressed as the love interest. When she shows up at the end at the rugby match, the audience is in completely in love with her. The movie also features rugby legend Naas Botha.
