John Leguizamo: Sexaholix... A Love Story (2002) Online

In this one-man stage show, John Leguizamo acts out scenes from his past family life, touching on his relationships with his mother and father, grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles, and his wife and children. He shares with us the lessons he's learned from his life experiences. I can't imagine there are too many people who couldn't relate to some of them. At times it's so intimate that it's hard to watch, but at other times it's incredibly moving. And of course, it's funny. Mr. Leguizamo is so talented, it's a crime that he doesn't get better film roles. Hopefully, that will change soon.

Oh yeah, he's also a very good dancer, and he looks great in a wifebeater and tight jeans, which doesn't hurt at all. :0)

I loved Sexaholics just as much as I did Freak. The funniest part was when he was making fun of his grandfather for falling in the toilet. I love John in almost everything he does. I hope that someday they put his live performances out on video so that everyone can see them. In my opinion he is like a Latin George Carlin in that John is just as funny as he is.

john leguizamo doesn't need anybody to write a script for him. that would be a step down. his hbo special was one of the funniest things i have ever seen. it reminded me of eddie murphy's "delirious." john's amazing comedic talent was only a few steps ahead of his mad dancing skills. one of the many things i loved about the whole production was his ability to make a joke at his own expense. nothing was held back and that's what i enjoyed most.

John Leguizamo is a genius. His ability to to spin out funny and touching tales is truly one of the most amazing things I've ever had the pleasure to witness. I originally saw the show before its Broadway run and before the show was taped for HBO and through a good portion of it I was hoping that some one would record it since I was laughing so hard I was missing a good portion of it.

It is with some regret that I watched the HBO version of the show. While its mostly the same show I saw several months before I found it less funny thanks to the tightening of the material for Broadway and TV. (The show I saw ran about an hour longer than what is on tape) This isn't to say that the show isn't good, it is, its just that should you ever get the chance to see him live run as fast as you can since that is the best way to experience his magic.

John Leguizamo is got to be one of the brilliant comedians around. I seen most of his movies and he is mad cool. When he acts it's so natural you can't even tell that he's acting. The Colombian accent he has makes him seem very suave. I remember him playing the evil clown on Spawn and he was just hilarious. I hope there's more of him to see in later movies.

More than a stand-up comedy show, this is the story of John's love life with funny moments and charming moments. Either John is borrowing a little bit from Rodney Dangerfield's self-depreciating "no respect" comedy or he's willing to tell it like it is. I suspect the latter.

John is a very talented guy. He takes on the roles of everyone in his story: his grandparents, parents, his friends and past lovers. Each character is performed with seemingly easy precision.

Watching this show, it was easy to see why the man has fans. He is deserving of them. Not only can he tell an incredible story of self-discovery, but he does so with wit, charm and heart.

i think that this movie is great. its laugh to you cry funny. its highly recommended if you want to laugh! 5 out of 4. Other great stand up from John L. are: Mambo Mouth, Spic-o-Rama(he dresses for each of his character that he mentions), and Freak. All of his comedies are based on his "family background" He tells the story about how his family met to how he was brought up. this stand up comedy is not the best of all his film works but its a lot better then the Latin kings of comedy or the Latinpalooza! This i can can say with out a doubt. Buy it, borrow it, steal it, do what you have to do to get a hold of this film you will enjoy it and want to watch it again and again guaranteed.

this show really proved that john is more than just a comedian

he is a true entertainer that can sing, dance, and he plays so many roles perfectly that it made everything flow smoothly and go quickly, not like some comedians that are too stiff and only tell the jokes

it mostly discusses his background and how it affected him growing up along with all of his crazy relationships and how they made him more "experienced"

he really gets into it because after all it was based on his life..definitely a must see..too bad it never came out on video still played occasionally on HBO though, so if you see it on TV, WATCH IT! 10/10

This movie, if you want to call it that, has plenty of laughs for you. That is, if you like stand up comedies. Like Eddie Murphy did in Delerious and Martin did in Runteldat, John L. does it for the latin audiences and for everyone at that. He's a very underrated star in Hollywood. With some bad choices in the past such as The Pest, he has made some bigger impacts such as Executive Decision with Kurt Russell and Steven Seagal. Watch it, I'm sure you'll laugh your patootie off. 3 *'s out of 4 *'s for laugh factor.

This was the funniest show I have ever seen in my life!! And I'm not even Puerto Rican. :) If you have the time to go see it on Broadway, or if you have HBO, this definitely is a show to take the time to watch! John Leguizamo is one of the most talented men I have ever seen perform.
