The stooges are witnesses at a trial where their friend, a dancer at a nightclub where they are musicians, is accused of murder. The stooges manage to disrupt the proceedings but save the day when they discover the real murderer's identity.

Apparently, this is one of four The Three Stooges shorts that fell into public domain after the copyright was accidentally not renewed in the 1960s.
Sol Horwitz and Jenny Horwitz, the parents of Moe Howard and Curly Howard, make uncredited appearances in this film as front-row members of the court audience.
This was the first of The Three Stooges shorts in which Curly Howard's name is spelled "Curly" instead of "Curley" on the opening credits.
Much of the witness/bailiff and judge dialogue was actually used in the film Sidewalks of New York (1931) with Buster Keaton, which was directed by Jules White, who was the head of the Columbia Pictures shorts department and who directed many of The Three Stooges' shorts.
This was the first of The Three Stooges shorts released with the new Columbia Pictures logo.
The killer is a dancer named Buck Wing, a reference to the buck-and-wing dance common in vaudeville and minstrel shows.
When the Bailiff says "I'll sue you for this", Moe mouths the line.
"Preston Black" is the pseudonym of Jules White's older brother and fellow producer/director Jack White.
The only public domain Three Stooges short in which Curly appears.
