Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The Bridge (2013– ) Online

In the wake of re-surfacing of Centipede, Shield recruits Mike after their last not-so-warm encounter, in order to balance the scales against Centipede's super-soldiers. At this end Centipede is looking for technology which would allow them to stabilize the serum fully. Amidst all these is the myth of a Clairvoyant and Shield has never been at such a downside of advantage at discerning the true intentions of their opponents.

After last week's visit to rural Jesusamerica and Daemons that came from Odin's Broken Rainbow Bridge, we get back to our Mythos, back to Square One and "Mike Peterson" (J. August Richards) which was where this whole thing started.

Our "Monster of the Week" Eps have given us the procedure for our ragtag, it was only a question of when we ever got back to Centipede and whoever is running it, never a matter of "if".

Our Woman in the Flower Dress is back, with Non-Exploding Extremis soldiers, thanks to the poor sod "Renshu Tseng" from a few episodes back and his non-exploding Extremis Blood.

But Mike Peterson has been improved as well, it was Fitz' Knock-Out Bullet that iced his explosion factor. So, to quote Walter Bishop, there is more than one way to roast a reindeer.

Both Peterson and the new Centipede Soldier-Crooks get blown out easy, and have to eat 50 hamburgers and sleep 5 days per one Mission.

Raina, the Flower Dress Girl, steals a guy named "Edison Poe" (Cullen Douglas) while he is eating his prison lunch. She really doesn't want him, she wants someone/thing called "The Clairvoyant".

Poe knows how to hold her at bay, in other words keep himself alive. Because it seems that everyone who Raina takes an interest in becomes extremely dead- Tseng, the original Centipede Doctor, etc. Who's Next?

These new Centipede Soldiers have more than one Centipede, where Mike only has one. Other than that they are just like Mike- Except for one other thing - They have the Built In TV Eye that Ex Agent Akela Amador had- The one that explodes and makes Peanut Butter and Brain-Jelly Preserves when they disobey.

So - Why does Centipede want Mike? Because he found a way to refrain from exploding that was not related to Renshu Tseng's Blood?

Nope, they didn't want that at all, they wanted something else, and some ONE else.

We've been asking the same question since the Pilot episode. And maybe just maybe we'll get an answer on 7 January 2014.

And the S.H.I.E.L.D. cgi-plane is looking better and better each Ep-But I still think, it would look better with a huge fish-tank where the fuselage got blown open in Episode 1.

I really like this episode, I dare say it's underrated, it showcases a lot of the things I came to love about the show, particularly the way they start to connect the threads of the story and it start to all makes sense, there is also clever writing around the twist you only notice after you know what it is, there is also a surprising amount of heart and the scene between Mike and Coulson when they discuss his future got me teary eyed, with hindsight it is even more powerful.

Agents of Shield's mid season finale is herE and it left us with a lot of questions, which is a good thing. This episodes had its ups and downs but thankfully it is mostly up.

It is great to see Mike back as J August Richards is an amazing actor. His acting chops were clear as he showed his emotions especially over the safety of his son.

It is also interesting to see how Ward and May's sexual relationship is affecting their work life. May believes that Ward might be conflicting the two, but Ward rebuffs her which makes it pretty interesting because it's hard to see who has the power in that relationship.

Having Centipede come back is basically a guarantee that they are the major villain in this season and that the Clairvoyant is at its head. As said in the episode, their technology is advancing really fast so someone has to be funding them. My money is on Ian Quinn because we have been introduced to him, he's very wealthy and he's in the wind.

The action in this episode is good to with the fight in the warehouse with May, Ward, Coulson and Mike taking on a bunch of enhanced soldiers.

There was a very nice twist at the end as the Clairvoyant and Centipede took Coulson, instead of Mike, who they said they wanted but actually didn't. Hopefully we'll get to see how he was brought back in the next few episodes.

One major complaint about this episode is Skye. Her search for her parents could make for an interesting plot point but her emotional breakdown after May tells her to focus on the mission not her personal problems was annoying. She keeps saying that she wants to be a Shield agent but she teeters back and forth between determined and weepy.

+ Great to see Mike + Return of Centipede and Clairvoyant + Relationship between Ward and May + Pretty decent action - Skye's personal problems

Final Score: 8.6/10
