The cinematography and main visual design for this short were inspired by the works of four directors. Georges Méliès, with his films A Trip to the Moon (1902) and Le voyage à travers l'impossible (1904). Karel Zeman, with his storybook like adventures, Vynález zkázy (1958) and Baron Prásil (1962). Blake Edwards, with his wacky period-piece comedy, Didžiosios lenktynes (1965). And Hayao Miyazaki, with his elegant worlds, rich stories, and endearing characters from such animated features as, Kaliostro pilis (1979), Dangaus pilis Laputa (1986), and Keliaujanti pilis (2004). There are many other notable inspirations that helped finalize the look, but perhaps most important among them, beyond the films above, were the video-games, Doragonzu kuraun (2013) and Dark Chronicle (2002).
