This is one of the funniest films there is. (Ok, others than Finnish-spoken persons don't understand this film, because it's in Finnish, and I don't think that they have made this with English subtitles.) But as well it's funny, the movie gives a great view of the life of the late 80's in the Lapland of Finland. Vesa Vierikko is absolutely one of the most respected actors in Finland. He does great job as Viltteri, newly-wed guy, whose wife is about to have their first child. Katsastus offers many humorous scenes and it has generated many great lines that are still used in everyday language. I recommend this warmly. If you want to laugh and spend a great hour with real entertainment, watch this!

I tried to read the short stories this movie is based on, but I never finished them. But it's obvious the short stories are well written, because the movie takes just unpredictable and funny twists. Still it's clear that the humour of this movie isn't speaking to anyone, it probably isn't even for any Finnish viewer. I think my dad enjoys this kind of humour far more than I do.

The main characters have all the details that usually makes me like characters, but a certain charm is missing.

Still, the writing is clever, and if anything, this film makes me appreciate the creativity of Finnish swearing.

This movie is #1 movie in my list. Lot of legendary phrases comes out of this movie, and they are used daily. Some people see this movie at least

once a week... such dedication for the movie. Probably only people that understand finnish can ever enjoy this movie fully, sorry....
