Splitting Up Together

Soups Jealous

ABC being famous on rebooting and refreshing the family drama and modernizing it which it completely does in here but unfortunately it isn't an update on something out-of-the-box but merely something mundane. Jenna Fischer along with Oliver Hudson parallel to her, are convincing as a couple but may need to ante up their game.

The execution and writing whilst pacing up the tale seems petty and uncomfortable on screen which is the key point in here that drags it down. If the plot enfolds in each phase and ensues chaotic family drama (not the usual one) then it can be a nail biter for it does have potential. Whilst on comic tone, its mild and smart which is always better than to have an urge to create pointless comic sequences.

Soups Jealous is more dramatic than funny which was their window to endorse the intensity and execute how high the stakes are which they completely fail to do so and the reason is neither the execution nor the script but the performance that required a bit more gravitas.
