The documentary thoroughly evaluates many proposed energy alternatives to help the viewer understand that oil is the linchpin of all production and that alternatives can not take its place - so what happens when it runs out? The viewer is clearly guided through the analyses toward the one inescapable reality tied to our debt-based monetary systems. Despite the title, a less ominous outcome is theorized.
