Streifenwagen 2150 Slain Cabby (1955–1959) Online

Ben Gates and Oren Wilkerson utilize taxicabs to quickly stage armed robberies and flee to their own car. They are initially successful in doing so, since most taxicabs look somewhat similar to potential witnesses. The Highway Patrol gives the two men's descriptions (and a special radio code) to local cab drivers. One of the Red Bird Cab Company's drivers picks up the suspects, recognizes them, and discreetly transmits the code. Subsequently, however, he unwisely tries to fight back and Wilkerson murders him before his cab can be located. Wilkerson becomes increasingly nervous and wants to flee the area, but Gates insists that they continue with their plan to stage three robberies before abandoning the cab. When the driver's body is found, Dan Mathews and his officers surmise that Gates and Wilkerson are still traveling in the cab. They move quickly to locate it, and an armed confrontation with Gates and Wilkerson becomes inevitable.

Crawford earns his money here, hustling and bustling around his car. The only thing faster is his machine gun dialog delivery. He's after two robbers who hijack cabs from town to town and use them to knock-over shops. Seems cabs are harder to track and they're good at it. So Mathews has to spend time with dispatchers for the deployment tracking to proceed.

That's actor Allan Nixon as the lead robber. He's infamous or, if you prefer, legendary for two big cult bombs—Prehistoric Women (1950) and Mesa of Lost Women (1953). So this is a step up for him. Lots of action and location footage, along with the two attractive dispatchers, make this a highly watchable entry.
