Writer Evan Hunter (aka Ed McBain) scripted a remake of this episode as Ironside: All in a Day's Work (1968), substituting Officer Eve Whitfield (Barbara Anderson) for Detective Bert Kling (Ron Harper). In a nod to the original, Walter Burke reprised his role as a police informant. A strikingly similar story also appeared as Barney Miller: The Hero (1975), a series that drew heavily upon the 87th Precinct.
