Joe and Mindy's father is always buying kitsch garden ornaments. His purchase of a set of lawn gnomes leads to chaos, however, as Joe discovers they are alive and intent on causing mayhem.

This episode is based on Goosebumps book #34.
The book is very different from the episode:
.Mr McCall and Jeffrey were good friends
. Joe had a dog called Buster and used a dog whistle which was a plot point.
. Mr McCall had a son called "Moose" who Joe was friends with.
. The gnomes Hap and Chip wanted Joe, Mindy and Moose to go to the garden shop to rescue their friends. It turns out to be a trap as the kids are surrounded by 600 gnomes.
