The entire film was written, shot, and produced in less than 72hours as part of the 5th Annual Asian American Film Lab 2008 competition. It placed in the top 10 out of almost 50 films.
Writer Nelson Walters also plays the co-worker in the film.
Terry Sasaki improv'd the entire first sequence.
Terry Sasaki was nominated best actor at the 2008 Asian American International Film Festival for this portrayal of Eddie.
The female custodian in the final scene is actually director San Heng.
The mirror scene was a last minute idea conceived by Terry Sasaki.
All scenes were shot inside or just outside a building that San Heng works at on southern 6th Avenue in Manhattan, New York.
The theme of the shootout competition was "A first goodbye" and that became the title of the film by default.
It was Director of Photography Josh Kesner's birthday the day of the shoot.
In the final scene, Andy Mathieson says "meiyou kuanshin" to San Heng the janitor, which is Chinese for "don't worry about it."
