Who Wants to Be a Millionaire: Hot Seat Episode #9.1 (2009– ) Online

This episode introduced the one hour "Super Game" format, which introduces a couple of elements not seen in Australia since the original version of the franchise, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (1999). The six contestants begin the show by answering fifteen Fastest Finger First questions across two rounds, and the contestant who has the most correct answers, and the fastest time in the case of a tie, receives a cheque for $1,000. When that contestant is in the Hot Seat, they have the option of using this money to buy a lifeline, and if they take this option, host Eddie McGuire will call for the clock to be stopped before the contestant decides which of three possible lifelines they want to buy, being able to choose 50:50 (the computer will get rid of two of the incorrect answers), Ask A Friend (the contestant can ask the audience member who accompanied them what they think the correct answer is) or Switch (which allows the contestant to get rid of the question and receive another question at the same money level).

Two of the three lifelines made available to the Fastest Finger First winner, Ask A Friend and Switch, have previously been seen on Hot Seat on special episodes, while the third, 50:50, is familiar to those who remember the franchise's first Australian version, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (1999).
