Nicolas hears that Miss Nettle, the temporary caretaker of his orphanage that replaced Miss Jean, is tormenting his old friends. He goes to Australia that night to sort the situation out himself. Luckily, he pretends to be the boarding school ghost to scare Miss Nettle away and he keeps his friend Michael a secret.
