Originally released as "State of Liberty - Chapter One: Looking for America." It was intended as a pilot for the "State of Liberty" television series. It aired in 2006 on television stations in Saipan, Tinian and Rota. It was released on DVD by Saipanpreneur in 2007.
The budget for was almost non-existent. The chief expenses (by writer/director Dan Shor) were the cost camera and lunches provided to the cast and crew. The film was shot with only available lighting and the cast and crew was composed of students and members of the local multicultural Saipan community.
