I, as a fan of the series, probably have rated episodes some what higher than actually needed but the feeling one gets from reliving their youth sometimes clouds the true perception of a production. But to be honest, there are some pretty darn good shows throughout the run of the series with good writing, good acting and some humorous scenes. It is easy to fall in love with the show and be carried away with the nostalgia--but this episode is not one of them.

Going into this holiday theme show, one can only have high expectations of success. But it only takes a few minutes of watching to know this episode is lacking in so many ways. Little Pete wants to extend Christmas past the season and keep it going all year. He does this by refusing to let his dad take down the Christmas tree and continuing the lights and carols. This ticks off the evil garbageman, that looks like something from the German silent horror movie 'Noseferatu', as he wants to take the tree so the season will end. Halfway through the show, I was hoping that he would some how get the tree and bring an quick ending to the show. But the journey continues to the point where everyone's garbage will not be picked up till Pete relinquishes the tree.

It gets even worse when Pete sets up a wrestling rink and challenges anyone to take on Santa Claus in a grudge match. Sure enough, the garbage man takes on Santa with all the feeling of a WWE Tuesday night fight.

I am usually a sucker for Christmas theme shows but I felt suckered punched watching this show play out. There seemed to be so many things that just did not add up. Like having Pit Stain so out of character that it was like watching a cartoon or a new large female neighbor that should have been place in the far background instead of having a speaking role- it was so out of line for what the series usually offers.

As with all holiday theme shows, by the end of the show things return to normal. I was just glad the show finally came to an end. This was a rare disappointment for people that love the series, like me.
