Rose Of Winds

An old friend of Inspector Jean Darblay is carrying out a surveillance operation in her patch.

Detective Inspector Harry Connor is from the crime squad who is keeping watch on a gang of counterfeiters. He is hoping to find a cottage for a stakeout with his female sergeant, maybe even use her as some kind of bait.

When Connor meets Darblay in a pub, he sees an old lag, calling himself Commander Nigel Scott. He is the kind of cad who fleeces money from wealthy widows.

The stakeout does not go according to plan as a nasty murderer is on the loose and the female sergeant finds herself in danger. Meanwhile Commander Scott finds out that not all widows are the gullible.

A rather underwhelming episode. Only worthwhile to see Shirley Stelfox glamming up Hartley.
