With pre-production lasting about a month and the film being shot in just under 2 weeks, the short was meant to be, well, short-lived. In the end, post-production tacked on a staggering 7 months due to lack of time to finish the film.
Director, Daniel Sandner, makes a small appearance as a student in the classroom scene. If you look closely, he can be seen looking over the storyboard for the film.
The classroom disappearance utilizes the old-school practical effect of a well-timed quick cut. The subject holds still while the extras move off set. In post, the editor cuts out the frozen time, creating the illusion of a continuous shot where the extras disappear.
The entire film was made without a budget.
