Elderly, frail Jenny Moran is found dead in her flat and police initially suspect a burglary gone wrong. Jenny's grand-daughter Connie tells Ronnie that Jenny's live-in carer Cecile has disappeared, having stolen a clock, but Cecile claims the clock was a present and accuses Connie of firing her because she would not obey her instructions and starve Jenny to death. She backs up her claim with written instructions. The police discover that Connie, a potential bankrupt, has inherited Jenny's flat and she is charged with murder. Her lawyer Vijay Prasad submits that the accusation is vague and that Connie could easily have smothered her grandma if she wanted. Then Connie gives evidence, stating that her grandmother was in great pain and killed herself for the release. She is very convincing and it seems likely that Jake will fail to secure a guilty verdict.

An old woman was chasing her cat that had just got in her neighbor apartment. After the pet animal had gone upstairs, the woman began calling the elderly flat owner with no answer: she's dead, lying on the ground in the bedroom with no sign of blood or strangulation. Forensic stated she had aches and pains, the worst was a renal failure. Her last caretaker, a Congolese girl, has just been fired by the victim's granddaughter and a carriage clock was missing, let detectives suppose it could have been a burglary went bad. After realizing the clock was pawned by the maid and her brawny fiancée (Osi Okerafor), police arrested the two black foreigners. But, in the questioning room, she confessed she had been instructed not to feed the victim....

An episode related to religious issue: a devout catholic can't commit suicide otherwise he's a sinner, but there are other ways in which he could end his life. At the end we can see Thorne restoring his faith: he feels guilty after his mother passed away.
