In Hell, the administrating office is hopelessly out of date and incompetent, so Satan enlists the help of an exceptionally aggressive and heartless businessman to modernize the place. He installs an IBM system and soon it's the picture of efficiency, much, it turns out, to the businessman's regret.

At archive.org, you can download a lot of free movies and TV shows. One of the shows I've particularly come to like is "Four Star Playhouse"--mostly because of its distinguished cast as well as its excellent anthology stories. "The Devil to Pay" is one of the weirdest shows in the series, however, and in style it's nothing like any other show. Normally, the episodes are about everyday people but this one seems a lot like a Devil episode from "The Twilight Zone".

When the show begins, you see Charles Boyer play a rather nasty and rules-oriented business man. He has no heart at all and it's not surprising that Satan himself stops by for a visit, as you could imagine them being BFFs. But Mr. Scratch has an odd request--he's like the guy to follow him to Hell and update their filing system. Inexplicably, the guy follows and soon has everything updated. Then the moron realizes (duh) that there's a catch!

In addition to being too weird and atypical, the episode suffers mostly because "The Twlight Zone" did such a great job in doing episodes about the Devil a few years later. Most are classics...and they make this one seem weak by comparison.
