An experimental prelude to 'EX' (2016). Six scenes in the lives of struggling couple Emma and Chris are shown in a silent collage of images, to a jarring soundtrack of household noises.

According to the writer and director; the six scenes (not including the digital clock) are, in order of appearance: 1) Emma coming home after a long night out; 2) Emma and Chris having sex; 3) Emma and Chris watching a film; 4) Emma and Chris making dinner, which devolves into an argument about children; 5) Emma taking a pregnancy test, and calling Chris to tell him the news; 6) Emma distraught, after hearing about the death of Chris. In chronological order, these scenes should go: 2 - 3 - 5 - 4 - 1 - 6.
