An impostor learns of Stanley's identity and his function as Mr. Terrific when he infiltrates a secret demonstration of the Power Pill for a select group of international scientists. He and other enemy agents abduct Stanley and circumstantial evidence makes it appear that Stanley may actually be willing to join them in return for $50,000. Stanley has an opportunity to demonstrate his loyalty when the agents get the upper hand on Reed and Trent, and Reed takes a chance on giving Stanley a Power Pill he has concealed in his pocket.

A subplot of this episode is the Bureau of Secret Projects' search for a possible replacement Mr. Terrific in the event that Stanley is incapacitated. Hal Walters pursues the job with vigor and boasts to Stanley that he is certain of his eventual selection. Stanley offers Hal his best wishes and wryly notes that if Hal is selected, he should call himself "General Good." This is, of course, a play on the fact that a competing show on NBC was titled "Captain Nice."
