The Imaginatively Titled Punt & Dennis Show Online

Fresh off the Mary Whitehouse Experience, Steve Punt and Hugh Dennis separated themselves from Rob Newman and David Baddiel for this sketch show. Not only did they bring back old characters (Milky Milky and Embarrassing Dad) but brought in new ones, like a man called Martin and World of Wine. It ran for two seasons and spawned the still running Radio 4 series "The Now Show"

Even though this sketch and stand up double act is over ten years old, the gags are as true as they are today, for example, telling a teen to 'fight with their heads' so they translate it as 'nut them' is what they'll literally do now.

The catchphrases are weird and wonderfully simple. With simple one word repetitions such as "DAMN!" from 'Marty Martinson', to the ever so peculiar "Milky, milky!", from 'Mr Strange'. Those, coupled with the right voice, can instantly be catchy and can be used in the right situation (there's also "I shall be sick as a dog in the morning!" for when you've perhaps had that little too much to drink!) The (regular) characters are equally extraordinary; there's Mr Strange (who loves his milk!), the lazy decorator (who always favours his drink of tea, rather than the job), plus the 'World Of Wine/Whisky/Vodka' presenters (one's sober, one's drunk!) and of course, the business owners that swap a fast food restaurant for a car hire (same hours, same locals, one difference - slightly less oil and grease!).

To back up the regulars, the hosts contribute a running theme through a particular episode, like a 50's style alien in human disguise doing every-day things, or having words that sound like rude words (Bollards! No, it's true!)

All in all, The Imaginatively Titled Punt & Dennis Show is one show to be definitely watched.
