"Bloody Bloody Bible Camp" is a traditional slasher horror comedy directed by Vito Trabucco. The film plays upon the classic standard affair that slasher horror adheres to as axiomatic truth, with special emphasis on exaggerated caricature personalities, in campy comedic precept. The film stars Reggie Bannister, Tim Sullivan, Ron Jeremy, Ivet Corvea, Matthew Aidan and Elissa Dowling. The story follows a group of Christian campers returning to the Happy Day Bible Camp, the scene of a brutal massacre of campers years earlier by the notorious "Sister Mary Chopper", a masked killer.

"Bloody Bloody Bible Camp" isn't actually a return to classic 80's style slasher films but it is more of a celebration of the sub-genre in horror. The director of the movie highlighted and accentuated all that was glorious and gory of the decade that gave us the slasher not to mention the urban legends of masked killers lurking in the dark just beyond the yellow glow of the campfire. There are some moments in the film that "ham" it up a bit too much but they are very few and do not detract from the entertainment value of the complete picture. The characters are less than stellar, however they create a fun energetic vibe as rightful prey to the sinister Sister Mary Chopper. The film is a great indie fun time with plenty of set up scenes that strike instant nostalgia of the genre that thrives on body count. There are some weaknesses in the story that implies a greater desire to play on the gore rich kill scenes instead of a strong story but non of it really ever collapses the complete story line. Actually the film is so much fun to watch and is truly a great homage to the slasher genre that there is no real moment that would produce any emotion other than an instant love of the movie. Plus Sister Mary Chopper is just a great and terrible on screen monster that sparks all the happy thoughts of those other masked homicidal maniacs from decades past.

I would say that all horror fans would enjoy "Bloody Bloody Bible Camp" but don't go into the film expecting a high production value or Indie gold acting. It is a great low budget film that is big on guts 'n' gore, tits and trash topics not to mention the over the top campy humor. This isn't a top notch scary horror but it holds it's own when it comes to body count, blood and guts and presenting fans with a cool new psycho killer. Check it out if you like a bit of cheese with your gore! It really is a fun little flick.

There is something for everyone in this wild, sexy and gory take on 80's horror films! From the unbelievable funny songs to the smoking hot (and naked) babes to the gory killings and the super-freaky cast, Bloody is by far the absolute best indie horror film to come out in years. It moves quick, delivers bloody (as the title suggest) and even has a campground to take you back to the greatest decade of horror - 1980s! Reggie Bannister is back in excellent form as the leader of this goofy pack of campers, and Tim Sullivan continues to entertain on the other side of the camera. And, if those two weren't enough, Ron Jeremy of adult film stardom is probably the craziest Jesus ever put on film. Do yourself a favor - watch this film. It is coming out on VOD very soon, I caught it at Texas Frightmare...

This movie will make you jump, laugh and say what the $&%^ all in the same scene and at the end, you'll be glad you watched it. A great mix of classic horror and comedy and then you add in Ron Jeremy playing Jesus and you have an instant classic. The movie will keep you wanting to see what happens next and the soundtrack is fitting for the time the movie takes place (early 80's) and funny enough to have you and your friends singing when the movie is over. It has the gore and chicks every good horror movie should require and plot has a few hidden things you only pick up the more you watch it.

If you are reading user reviews on this movie stop now and just watch it for yourself. You won't be disappointed!!!

Most of people would have said that this is the worst movie ever but I don't think it is. Well, if every bad movie is the worst than what is the definition of THE WORST itself. I mean this movie isn't worst but it is bad. They try to put some classic movie atmosphere and cliché' into this and I believe they have succeeded (but not really good). It is not horror but rather trying to be comedic. At times I would feel like laughing but I just can't, something some kind of missing in it. If you have nothing better to do than loosen your expectation and watch this movie. Then you may find it is watchable. If more time, money and efforts being put on this movie maybe it would be much much better.

Okay, I admit I am definitely a child of the 1980s when it comes to my favorite kind of horror movies. I have liked a handful of recent flicks, but I'm really fatigued on the 'torture porn' variety (and the self-aggrandizing, almost emo 'darkness' present in too many of them). I have really been missing the FUN of horror movies, the kind of fun my friends and I used to have when we'd pile in front of the television for the "Only After Midnight" blocks of horror films always broadcast on the weekends in the 80s and 90s ("976-EVIL" was a particular favorite of mine, as were the 'Prom Night' films).

This movie took me right back to that kind of horror experience, and I felt like the makers of this movie loved those kinds of horror movies just as much (if not more than) I do. For the first time in a long time, I actually had FUN watching a horror flick.

The film starts in the 1970s, where a series of grisly murders take place at The Happy Day Bible Camp at the hands of a masked figure known as Sister Mary Chopper. There's sex, there's violence, and one of the most twisted and hilarious decapitations I've ever seen.

Flash forward to the early 1980s, and we find Father Richard Cummings (Reggie Bannister) interested in acquiring the camp, toting a brand new band of horny (and often clueless) bible campers along with him. All of your most beloved trope characters are represented here; The Horndog D-Bag (played with manic energy by Matthew Aidan), The Comely-yet-Dimwitted Virginal Sexpot (Jessica Sonneborn), The Childlike Fat Kid (Christoper Raff), The Shy One (Troy Guthrie), The Rakish Camp Counselor (Jay Fields), The Troubled Goth (Deborah Venegas), and The Mysterious One (the excellent Ivet Corvea, in what I think is the anchor performance). They're warned of the potential danger that awaits them at camp, but of course they all but ignore it as they're too busy thinking about themselves, who's going to score with whom, and who's going to win the Bible Bowl trivia contest. They pile in the van and head toward their doom singing their favorite ode to Jesus (a song written by Reggie Bannister himself, one that's so unbelievably catchy you might find yourself with an ear worm).

These characters aren't riddled with pathos, and they're not supposed to be. You learn their names, behold their ridiculousness, and wonder how good old Sister Mary Chopper is going to dispatch with them. This movie has its tongue firmly planted in its bloody cheek, it pokes good-natured fun at the cliché's of 80s horror while simultaneously doing them blood spurting justice. It pays homage to 80s horror, I appreciated those winks to a shared history of gore but never felt like this movie was a gratuitous novelty item. It hearkens back to the past, but it also gives the finger to contemporary political correctness and shines on its own merits (one particular use of the murder weapon itself is something I'm not sure many other film makers would dare include in a mainstream Hollywood film these days, even if they wanted to). This movie pushes the envelope of taste in some scenes, but it does so with unapologetic glee. It never comes off as smug or up its own (to quote a character in the film) "rusty starfish". This is bloody murder in high, humorous spirits, and for me it was just plain fun to watch.

The production values are surprisingly good for an indie horror, something I was impressed with. I've seen loads of painful indie horrors that looked like they were shot with a handy-cam and fake blood from a costume shop, you'll find none of that here (a little wind interference on the sound in one scene, but easily forgiven and forgotten). The special effects were also more than solid, and they provide plenty of T&A here in that great old fashioned tradition.

You will probably love this movie best if you have a special place in your heart for camp sex comedies, the first batch of "Friday the 13th" movies, and stuff like "Scanners" or "Re-Animator". I've only watched it by myself so far, but I'm looking forward to sharing it with friends for a Saturday night slash-fest with laughs. It's THAT kind of movie.

This actually had a lot of promise i think.

The intro is great, and gives that great 80's slasher feel. But it totally falls flat as the film plays out. The camera-work and lighting is awful, and the actors, although they are supposed to be bad, are worse then to make the point of making a 80's rip off.

The effects are hilarious and fun though.

From the mid i had to just fast forward through it.

A block-headed comedy horror with religious overtones, BLOODY BLOODY BIBLE CAMP is as silly and cheesy as it sounds. I always find that the presence of a Ron Jeremy cameo guarantees that a film will be really bad, and so it proves here; to my surprise he plays Jesus in this film, which may be the most imaginative that the movie gets. Otherwise it's an inept, Troma-style trash flick, complete with cheap fx, voyeurism, lots of cheese, wooden acting, and PHANTASM's Reggie Bannister as a priest.

The name alone screams WATCH ME! BBBC is a name that says cult classic long before you peep the poster or dim the lights to get your view on, so the bar is set extremely high right from the get go on this one, leaving little room for mistakes. I knew going in this would probably be a love or hate relationship for me with no middle ground. It was going to be fun on a grand scale or epically let me down on a deep level. OK yeah I get it, I sound a bit dramatic, but the name really pumped me for this one, what can I say?? I'm a passionate gal, especially for my b slasher horror! And so now as they say lets go on with the show{'s review}.

So here's the basis for our little tale today. 1977 a young and randy group of campers are enjoying themselves at Happy Day Bible Camp. Well that is until Sister Mary Chopper has had enough of their immoral debauchery, and that's when the massacre begins. Fast forward to 1984, and Father Cummings (Reggie Bannister) is taking a new gaggle of gawky hormonal and biblically bound teens out for another wholesome romp in the woods. Stopping for supplies on the way in to camp the group hears, and ignores, the story of the sadistic Sister Mary Chopper, and her reign of moralistic terror at Bloody Bloody Bible Camp. How many will survive the weekend and does Jesus (Ron Jeremy) REALLY save?

First off let me say this film transported me back to my teens. It feels so authentically 80s its Like Awesome! I was really impressed with so many of the choices.Creating a period piece, especially one the at many of us actually remember, you need to do more than just mimic the costume of the time, you need to create a feel, Vito and his cast found away too do just that! Between the casting that reflected the imperfections of the time, to the actors that hit the mannerism and over the top awkwardness of the early slasher films, it was just so spot on! It was like a visual study of the era, and had great nods to the films that built the genre, like SleepAway Camp, Friday the 13th, and other favorites of the time. Of course you can't do 80s slasher without boobs and bush, and although BBBC has its fair share, it appears more gratuitous than it actually is, you feel like your seeing very salacious scenes when in fact a lot of the indecency is really implied rather than seen, quite brilliant.

Another thing that makes this a gem of a film is nestled within the bare bosoms, and raunchy humor is a some really smart social commentary. Its not often you have the opportunity to be schooled in morality by an ex porn king but Ron Jeremy does just that, in a humorous fabulous way. I am a huge fan of Ron Jeremys mainstream work, hes fantastic! This is a film that will go down in the ages and I personally want to hug whoever it was that chose Ron Jeremy for Jesus, my only complaint is that I was really hoping that he played a bigger role in the film. Bloody Bloody Bible Camp is a film that I will definitely own, and watch again and again. If you are a fan of old school horror this is one you have to check out, its not going to change the world but it will turn a frown upside down! And for all you UK readers I am happy to tell you the film just recently became available in the UK market look for it under the title SIN.

To be fair I gave it a 3/10 for some good horror elements and making fun of religion (most movies wouldn't dare so it was funny to see one that did).

However, unless you're a perverse teenager or dirty old man this movie isn't that great. To be honest, it was perverted, full of gross sex stuff that wrecked the entire plot and just plain weird towards the end. I'm not religious at all but getting a porn star to play the role of Jesus was a little much, not because it's sacrilegious but because it's just plain weird! The production company has a reputation for making lousy sex-filled horror movies, like their 2002 film Death Factory (crazy chemist woman goes on a killing spree in a chemical factory). But this movie? I highly doubt I will ever watch this thing ever again, it wasn't very entertaining, it was weird and disgusting and had next-to-nothing of a plot-line.

I don't mind watching trashy parody movies that have no specific plot or point as long as they are funny and entertaining. This one has none of the aforementioned.

The idea itself is, of course, cliché, but surely something could have been done in this movie to justify its given genre. Unfortunately, the realization has failed on so many levels that I've lost the interest after circa 10 minutes of lame mischief.

Low-budget is not a problem if you know how to entertain the audience. The creators of this movie obviously don't know how to do that. Their piece of work is neither funny nor scary, full of random "jokes" which are almost always out of place, and I got the impression that none of the people who participated in filming this failure actually wanted to make this movie.

So, save your time and skip this absurdity.

This movie is set in the late 70's and in to the early 80's. Its meant to be a homage and a throwback to the Slasher horror movies of that era. Although it has elements of the typical 70's slasher movies in it, the movie is (for me) just too over the top and in the last 10 minutes it loses its way in my opinion. Yes I know its trying to be like those slasher films from that era but I think it tried too hard in the end. It did have some funny moments, and I know its not meant to be taken seriously but it also goes too far for me. I tried to like it but I was let down by the last stanza of the film. The first 10 minutes were promising but then it slowly let itself down throughout the rest of the movie. I think a lot of classic horror movie lovers will like this film, but its not for me. I give it a 2 out of 10.
