Maintenance by Any Means (2003) Online

"Maintenance by any Means" is about two maintenance men vying for the position of maintenance supervisor in an apartment complex. The maintenance men must compete with each other in order to get the job left open by the former Maintenance Supervisor. They need evaluations by the people who live at the apartments for every work order they finish. The problem is the renters themselves. Each one they run into has their own set of interesting problems. The maintenance men soon discover that a positive review may be hard to come by. Fixing broken down items in the apartments is the least of their worries. Finally one of the maintenance men must win the contest, by any means.

If you've ever seen a B movie that lacked in writing, acting, filming, and pretty much every other respect, then you ain't seen nothin' yet. "Maintenance By Any Means" is the first from Zandy Kreps. Well, the first that I happened upon. It's poorly written, poorly filmed, poorly acted, and so on and so forth. I do at least give him credit for having enough dedication to see the project all the way through, because I would have quit pretty early on. This movie is definitely a learning experience for him and anyone who views it.

Independent film making has to start somewhere, I would just advise at a different jumping off point. Being a film maker (or artist of any kind) means you have to look at your art from an unbiased perspective. Sometimes you gotta' judge what you've created more severely than others. If you ever get a chance to watch this, it'll definitely make you realize what not to do.

An unbelievable piece of garbage from indie film maker Dazey Kreps. Lousy acting, directing, editing and sound. Please don't waste your time on this one. If you have ever have seen a movie and told yourself, "I could do better than that." This is a perfect example. The acting by Chip G and Zandy Kreps almost left you feeling sorry for them. But not quite. The couple of bright spots were the girl in the wheelchair and the football incident. They were actually funny and I found myself laughing out loud. But a couple of laughs are not worth your time watching this disaster of a film. A word of advice to Zandy, lighting is important as are a few close-ups. My son and I had to fast forward to end this dreadful creation. Two thumbs down, way down.

It's one of his more brilliant and inventive ideas I have seen in awhile, and it gets the wacky all throughout out the movie. This movie has wide array of Characters like short Pimp, Army guy, Party dudes and so on. The painters are hilarious!!! This movie will have you laughing so much that it'll start to hurt! I mean God, what a great movie!! Love the Stoners they remind me of kids from high school. The lighting and sound in few place are not that great, but other than that, the goofy story works well.

Zandy Kreps and Chip G do a good job. It's full of the usual sight gags, football to head, lost drunk, everything that happened in a Keystone Kops comedy is the same that happen at this Apartment complex. Loads of fun to watch with a brisk running time of 102 minutes.

I'd say the previous user comment was a bit harsh. While I agree that the film is rough. It was made (from reports) and an abysmally small budget and having something to show for the work is something at least. I'd say that there were a number of rough performances in the movie (the female lead was rough at best and ZAndy needs to concentrate on directing and not acting himself). I would have to say the performances of the Drunk Guy, Rev. Hitch and the guy with the bugs in his apartment were standout in the film. There seemed to be more depth and character in these roles (probably more a testament to the actors than the writing). Anyway, it isn't an award winner, but it isn't the worst movie either. It's good to see that indie film is alive in all levels. Note to writer/director... probably could have used someone to go over the screenplay and clean it up to make it flow a bit more easily. The dialog seemed forced and didn't flow very smoothly.
