Inspektor Wexford ermittelt The Double (1987–2000) Online

Peter Milton and Lisa Cleasant are engaged and will soon be getting married. Peter is a brash stockbroker in the City and Lisa is timid and very superstitious. One day they meet Zoe, who is the spitting image of Lisa but very different in personality: she is confident, flirtatious and daring. Being superstitious, Lisa believes that if you meet someone who is your double, you will die within the month. While she is on holiday in Mexico with her equally superstitious mother, Peter and Zoe have a brief but torrid affair. When Lisa returns, she arranges to meet Peter at their "special place" in the woods. But when Zoe also turns up, it looks as if Lisa's superstition might actually happen.

I watched the whole thing, wanting it to be something of a surprise by the end. It isn't! Without giving anything away, I worked out the story-line in the first few minutes and it barely deviated. To be honest, it felt like an homage to the old Hammer House stories, down to the art gallery scene, the necklace, tarot cards and the inevitable female in danger.

The ending was annoying in its predictability and I cam away feeling annoyed I'd spent the time with it. I really wanted to have something happen to take it away from the routine, which is why I hung in there. I gave it 2 stars because Jason Flemyng made the suffering semi-worthwhile.

I watched one RR show that was pretty decent about the Moors, however this one and the other ones we watched are terrible. The acting is wooden, no real inventive plots, I must say, that I am not tempted to read her novels Stick to Lynley for decent detective novels, I would not recommend these to anyone
