Hunter's disgust at his boss drinking a Fresca is a nod from Writer/Director Sean Hampton to the movie Let's Go To Prison in which the antagonist drinks Fresca.
The characters Bobby Clark and Gary Combs are named after the two stunt performers who wore the Gorn costume in the original Star Trek series episode "Arena."
