This would have to be the best episode of this series. It dealt with real issues without being preachy but still made the right impact with its audience. This episode made me think of not only all the senseless high school shootings around the world, but also the horrible things that went on in my own high school 10 years ago. Whilst I do agree with the previous comment that some of the characters were bland in this episode, I think it was a wise choice to keep most of the main cast lower key, as the point of this episode was Jimmy's struggle. What a fantastic portrayal of a kid in crisis. Well done guys on a powerful and memorable episode. Keep it up. This series just keeps getting better and better!

My hands were shaking throughout this entire episode! Not only did it feature real life scenarios, but it brought the realness of it to the screen! You could feel Jimmy Edwards pain! I think that this episode will show people that you should be nice to everyone and try to befriend someone who may be lonely! Mark Schwahn, the cast, and the crew did a great job with this episode! I hope that the CW sees that and decides to keep One Tree Hill! I loved all the Nathan and Haley moments, too! And I also thought that it was great that they talked about the Suidice Prevention Hotline at the end of the episode because someone could have been watching the episode and needed to see that! Episodes like this are the reason why the network shouldn't cancel this show. "One Tree Hill" has built a very good reputation for themselves by producing episodes like this one that deal with issues that many teens of today are going through. When Jimmy Edwards comes into school one day with a gun, he shoots it and unknowingly hits another student (a main character of the show). Ducking into a room with some other students, he pretends to be a victim just as one of them, but snaps at a point, pulls out his gun, and turns it into a hostage situation. The show features basically that one room and the students in it, questioning why this is happening. The ending somewhat cliffhanger of the show is what really makes OTH shine. I'm not going to completely ruin it, but two characters end up dead and it's really not pretty.

I thought this was by far the best episode. The acting was superb. The actors that played Jimmy Edwards and Glenda were amazing and really added to the show. I wish that Jimmy had not died because I would love to see him continue on with One Tree Hill. I think Glenda should be brought back to show that people can change and she can become loved at the school. Her character was basically the morale of the show for Brooke and it needs to be explored a little more. Maybe Brooke can become friends with Glenda and it can help turn her life around. This is a strong episode that a lot of kids should watch to help them deal with these issues which are prevalent in our schools and in society.

I can understand how other reviews, especially people from America who have been close to such things happening, react differently then I do. I, for my part, bow in front of the writers for their courage because I think that they managed to bring this topic across as real as if even can be shown on a TV Show and as sad as it is, things like the ones shown in this one are becoming part of our lives at the moment, in every country. That does not make it good in any way. It is horrible and cannot be ignored. But to show it like this makes it more real, at least for me. I have heard so much about these things but, luckily, never was part of it in any way. Showing it like this shows that this issue is not ignored which, in my mind is good.

This episode moved me more then any of the other ones out of one simple reason. It felt real (thanks to writers and actors for delivering it with just the right amount of respect and input it needs), at least to me it did. It will never be as real for me as for someone who actually had to see it but I believe it gave me a way of understanding the topic, the people involved, just a bit better.

To everyone who had to live through something like this - I am so glad you survived and believe me, we won't forget, not ever.

I thought this episode is one for people to always have a feedback on how they treat others. When it came to the end when Dan Scott shot his brother Keith that was a big turn, I am thinking he did that was because he heard Keith calling Lucus his son and he got upset about that. I am one myself who doesn't treat my friends any different not hang out with them for no apparent reason. I hope they have more shows like this and show and give more people a much better understanding on how they should treat others around them. This show was a bit of a suspense to me, was it to you ? I hope Peyton lives through her gun wound and stays on the show.

alright listen, whoever you are that commented this and said you watched it by accident. i was just about to go to bed when i saw that comment and i decided to make an account and say something on the spot. you don't know what you are talking about. whatever show you were talking about is stupid and no one could do anything better than one tree hill.

you don't know the people and the lives that they lived and the events that led up to that. you don't know who any of them are. you don't know who Kieth was you don't know who jimmy was and you sure as hell don't know Dan and why he killed Keith. it was a good ending to an amazing episode.

it makes everyone cry and it is the sadness show in the world, well everyone except you because you are a cold hearted bitch that doesn't know what they are talking about k? k!

Oh my god! this was by far the best episode of one tree hill. The acting was incredible and when Keith died i was crying so hard. I loved him and he and Karen were gonna get married and he was gonna adopt Lucas. This was probably the most emotional episode of one tree hill in a long time. I loved how everyone was so touched one way or another by Jimmy's death. and oh my god when Dan killed Keith I immediately went into shock mode. I loved Keith and I hate Dan. Why couldn't Dan just die in that fire? Huh? He deserved to burn in hell for everything he's done. Luckily he was haunted by Keith's ghost. God I hope he gets caught. Hey it's not real life so good will beat evil.

This episode was by far one of the best TV episodes of any show I've ever watched, let alone on the WB.

Hearing Jimmy talk about high school society brought tears to my eyes, not only because his words were so touching and heartfelt, but because what he was saying was true.

This is a great episode for teens to watch, especially before entering high school. It teaches them to be more open and not to exclude anyone, because this episode provides insight to the effects of that neglect.

One thing I liked about this episode was that it was all serious. No frivolous teen problems, no "will these pants make my butt look good?" issues, and no comedy. The entire episode dealt with serious issues, and, especially coming from a not-so-serious show, the magnitude of the subject matter was handled beautifully.

A major theme of this episode was to make sure that what was going on in high school society would stop. A character acts upon this need for change. I feel that this episode screams for change, and I feel that the episode instilled the necessary impact needed to start that change.

This was so intense and so sad. i was sobbing through the last half hour. in most sad movies or TV moments, i will have i tier or i will be crying, but not with this. i was full on crying! hyperventilating, makeup all over, tiers all over my face, everything possible for crying. and i will not tell you who died in the end or who killed him or her, but, i did not see that coming!!! it is SO sad!!!!!!!!! if you missed it and are going to watch it, it will be nothing like you expected it to be. if you truly care for this show and most of its characters, you will be at least "the notebook" crying. but i was more. i really hope that they will keep the show when it goes to the CW. have ice cream and tissues for when you watch this episode. i do not think that i will ever be able to watch it again.

This episode is the #1 episode of all so far. It was wonderful and sad. I feel for Jimmy and was sad to see him die. Poor Peyton i hope she lives and KEITH!! OMG! Cliffhangers are One Tree Hills #1 tool! WATCH THIS EPISODE TAPE THIS EPISODE!!

It truly was the best episode. IT had me crying, laughing, laughing/crying, and the ending was the hit. Truly a Landmark One Tree Hill. The everyone did a great job. I give my best to all who worked on this episode. My most favorite. #1 above all at this moment!

I will continue to watch the rest of the season so see how this Suicide and Shooting experience plays out. Kudos Kudos!

There are a lot of people slamming the WB for being brave enough to tackle something as dark as suicide. I think I cried for half of this episode, and smiled through the tears for the rest. Even if you never watch another episode of One Tree Hill, watch this one, make your friends watch this one. Trust me, it can change your life. I am lucky, I was neither a Jimmy Edwards or a Brooke Davis in high school, but it is easy to sympathize with both. The only thing I could have done without its the death of Keith. I thought it was out of place in the middle of all the drama. Unfortunately I think the death of Jimmy was what made the show, as sad and tragic as it was, his death is what gave the episode more impact. Be brave, watch and learn.

I personally thought it was a great episode, possibly the best in the season so far. This particular episode really focused on the one of the biggest issue in high school, "Bullying". It illustrated what can happen if it was to continue. This I think is great as it contains moral teaching to some of the younger audience of One Tree Hill.

Full disclosure, I am not an American, I am British

However, I have seen a lot of death and a lot of hope because I am and A&E nurse and this episode has both of that. This has so much life in it for an episode base around death. There is so much truth in this episode (and the next's) surrounding death. Its not easy and those who lose the battle against mental health are so much stronger than we will ever know. OTH have done such a good job! not only dealing with the way it works out, but also with the survivors guilt.

I thought that this show was a blatant rip-off of intense and profoundly tormenting 'reality news' turned to fiction. The offense here is not that the cast is at least, admirable, but rather that the writer and the writing steals from the pain of others. This is a script lacking in ethics with an abundance of lowest common denominator morality. Perhaps a third season was too much. Nonetheless, I feel sorry for the real victims in the schools of America. The second half of the first season and the second season were going somewhere prior to this stall.

All-in-all, where are some new ideas that are fresh and original?

I know that I am probably two decades older than the target audience for "One Tree Hill". I saw this particular episode by accident. I think the subject matter of school shootings is very important. I just wished that the treatment here was more imaginative and, especially the final plot twist at the end of the episode, not so contrived.

The only bright spot in this episode was the credible performance of Colin Fickes as Jimmy Edwards, the distraught student who held his fellow students hostage. I felt that the actor was on an entirely different level than the others. The stars and the supporting cast were very bland and uninteresting.

At least with this episode, I kept thinking about how "Degrassi: The Next Generation" did a much better job than "One Tree Hill". I noticed that the average age of the actors on "One Tree Hill" is around 23 or 24 years old while the actors on Degrassi is closer to high school age. Sometimes when it comes to television shows or movies about teens or young adults, it depends not only on the script but the casting and the talent of the actors.

This show was so sad, however it really upset me because it was "ripped from the headlines" and at the time, the headline it was ripped from was my school. So even though I feel that it is an important topic, it could have been covered in a better way, or at least it should have had a Long message in the end. Because if anything it is merely suggesting to students a new way of accomplishing something. Also i feel as though the show cared more about the ratings and the number of viewers then they cared about the viewers that this would upset. At my school the kids playing this type of attack were arrested, but what about the other kids from the other schools that were not so lucky, how do you think they felt when the turned on the TV for their weekly does of One Tree Hill?
