Severed Footage (2012) Online

Between 2007 and 2011, twelve severed feet in running shoes have been found off the coast of Western Canada and Washington State. This is the only place in the world where severed feet are mysteriously washing up on shore. Police are baffled by this phenomenon as no other body parts have been discovered. Major news networks including, CNN, ABC, CBC, MSNBC, BBC, CTV as well as National Geographic have been following this bizarre story looking for answers. In 2007 a university nerd devised a plan to meet the hottest girls in his class by filming his history project on Kanaka Pete the Axe Murderer. Kanaka Pete was hung for chopping up his family. He was buried in an unmarked grave on Newcastle Island, which is also a hot spot for paranormal activity. This is in the same area where many of the severed feet have been found. The students were camping on Newcastle Island when something went very wrong. The tape that the students were making was recently leaked from the local authorities by ...

very poorly made found footage, atrocious acting, feels like a poorly attempt to copy the blair witch project and the delivery of lines by the actors just feels robotic, everything happens out of camera view, it is basically an hour and a half of people running in the woods shouting what's going on as if the viewers cannot figure it out for themselves, it's also very far from scary since you get bored 15 minutes in because it seems more about a fat kid trying to hook up with girls than anything else and that sentiment persist throughout the movie

storywise ghost story that doesn't go nowhere, no real paranormal investigation or something at least believable going on, only a «ghost detector» that beeps when stuff is suppose to be happening

only recommend if you are extremely bored and out of stuff to watch and even then re-watching something actually entertaining like Grave Encounters is more worthwhile

This movie is sad....and those who brought it into existence, should all bow their heads in shame...and hope that somewhere in the grand cosmos, they are forgiven. This FF film is what gives FF a bad name. This is a BAD FF film. Please, for the love of all that is sacred and good in this universe....stop rating good FF films so poorly. This is clearly an example of a movie that should be rated about 1.2 on IMDb. Yet somehow, it is floating here with an above 5 rating. FF films like Bigfoot , the Lost Coast Tapes are in the same rating ballpark as this abomination of FF. That...is a true disservice to the makers of that excellent FF film. How did this film even get any type of distribution any way. I mean any...distribution....even free online distribution...all records of this monstrosity should be vaporized and thrown in the memory hole.

First off, do you notice that all the good reviews on this movie were from the same location? Same country that it was released? I will bet anyone a million bucks these are reviews from someone having an association with the production of this film or the film makers themselves. Moving on, I am actually one of the few that really enjoys a good "found footage" movie. I will even let some of the more criticized films squeak by with an, "that was OK" or "at least the story was decent". This "movie" was absolutely horrible. The writing/casting/directing/acting was quite possibly the worst I have ever seen. I started the movie really wanting to give it a chance, for hope that I had found a new good "found footage" film. I was sorely mistaken. You could tell the actors were trying to act "random" to portray the fact that it was supposed to be real time and live, but what came out was forced and very cheesy/ unrealistic. Cheesy to the point where you hoped that these actors/ actresses considered acting lessons after the conclusion of filming. The story had an interesting start but just completely dragged on and for nothing. You may choose to watch like I did, hoping for a new hidden gem to add to your collection, but what you will find is fools gold.

seriously, why cant we get a decent scary movie made ever?Even the promotional poster is a rip off of The Blair Witch...sheesh.I've heard of the severed feet appearances in Canada, and this silly stupid movie simply exploits it for all(not much) its worth. As usual, the worst movie makers are the first to tell the story in their own unintelligent way. It shouldn't take a lot of money to make a good movie just good actors and a good script writer I guess they are impossible to come by anymore.I cant think of anything else to say about this typical garbage sorry excuse for a movie.I have to write ten lines but thats ridiculous and unfair.Ten words are enough for this "movie"

I'd rate this a 0 if I could...

All these "actors" shouldn't be allowed to even try to make another "film" ever again. They're all terrible, they really can't act at all and they are all annoying. I assume the good reviews come from their friends or something, because this movie is utter trash. It doesn't deserve to be distributed.

It's just really hard to take this movie seriously when everything feels like a bad attempt of a comedy. Yeah, it feels like a comedy but it's not funny, nor is it scary, nor is it anything at all. It's just bothersome. I sat through the whole thing just so that I could firmly say that THIS is one of the WORST found footage films (and probably films in general) out there.

Believe me, you don't want to waste your time on this one. I'm sure that any other FF film is a better example and a far superior effort.

I found Severed Footage to be quite entertaining. This is defiantly not one of those boring movies were you are board out of your mind for half the movie until anything noteworthy happens. The movie starts out actually quite funny. You get to see these the personalities of these students and the things they do. This made the movie go by quite fast as I got caught up in it.

Then it was like a switch was turned and when you are not expecting it, things start to happen. I actually jumped back a few times in my seat from being surprised and shocked. At the same time everything looked real and was realistic, it could happen to you or me. That was the scary/creepy part, knowing that this could have actually happened to anyone. On top of that, if you look up the things they talked about in the film, it is all real. It is in the history books and has been in the news recently.

This is one of the better found footage or POV movies to be released. It keeps your attention the whole time. You laugh. You get creeped out with shivers down your spin from the things you see and hear. Your heart will start racing as suspense builds. And you will get shocked and jump a few times.

It is well worth your time to see this film. I enjoyed it and I'm sure you will too.

Found footage movies such as Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity have been very successful both in their ability to excite and scare people. When I watched "Severed Footage" the intensity that built coupled with the uncanny authenticity of certain events immediately gave me reason to rank it superior to previous found footage films. I enjoyed watching the college kids as they planned this project, typical students and fun to watch, I could relate as a student myself. The sheer truth behind the storyline was frightening but so captivating that I had to watch the movie again. It was very well done and enjoyed by many including myself.

I usually do not write reviews about movies but I was so impressed with this one I had to share my thoughts. I just watched a screening of "Severed Footage" with some of my friends. We had no idea what is was going to be about other than it was a found footage and I am a big fan of the found footage movies. What I like in a found footage movie is that it should be believable. People that do not seem themselves, a fake story line or scenes that are unrealistic just ruin them for me. I found this movie much more realistic than most. The people in it seemed real, the story about the 12 severed feet washing up on shore in running shoes is not only creepy but has been all over the news. Now that got me thinking! Loved getting to know the people, made it easy to relate to them, just normal college kids. It was humorous watching the poor college nerd trying so hard to impress the hot girls in his class. Kinda like watching Napoleon Dynamite. Then as they got to the Island I was caught completely off guard. Many times we jumped out of our seats. The Axe scene was absolutely terrifying. The ending was the great too. After I got home I Googled the floating severed feet and also Kanaka Pete the Axe murderer. I found stories everywhere especially on the paranormal and true ghost story sites. Many people have had paranormal encounters with the Ghost of Kanaka Pete, and some have lived to tell about it. So many actual true events in this movie, and I like that. This is the most believable found footage movie I have seen. Lets see, no director named, no cast named, no credits, this just may be the real deal! I was a teen when The Blair Witch Project came out and that was thrilling and exciting, this is the first time I have felt that same thrill and excitement about a found footage movie since then. I would highly recommend this movie even if you are not into the found footage genre. After watching "Severed Footage" I now have a new favorite.

"Severed Footage" was enjoyable to watch for lots of reasons. I enjoyed the storyline development (it wasn't just in your face gore or non stop violence) , the character development was fun to watch, and the composition of the movie itself led up to the surprising climax of the film, with subtle humour and great drama. The beauty of that part of the world just shines so naturally in this film. I especially liked the tie-in to the infamous history and unsavoury characters let loose on Newcastle Island in the recent past, as well as the yet unsolved mystery that is current news of 12 severed feet washing up the area beaches, but maybe this leaked footage exposes that mystery. None of this great drama has ever been told in film that I'm aware of. Three cheers for a job well done!!!

I'm not usually one to watch found footage movies, but "Severed Footage" has definitely changed my mind on them. The plausibility of the story is amazing; when I got home from watching it the first time, I searched all the issues that came up and not one of them was fictional. That, for me, is the key to why the film is really entertaining. The only other film of this type that I've seen is the first "Paranormal Activity" and "Severed Footage" was just as good, if not better. The beginning of the story (before they get to Newcastle Island) has a comic element which I just didn't get in "Paranormal", and the premise of the story was much more believable for me. All in all, I would most definitely recommend this film and it is probably the best Indie film I've seen in a long time.

It's a pretty cool back story and the legend is a real legend. Any movie with a a killer who wields an ax a classicly terrifying image. Def some Blair Witchy goings on with shaking tent. It was terrifying in B.W. ... It's been ripped off because it works.

However, all of these things were insignificant bits of nothingness compared to the disturbing, pathetic, delusional behavior of the main guy. This whole thing was dreamed up, cultivated and executed for one purpose.... To have time and ultimately have sex with one or both of the hottest girls in college. I suspect it would be his first time with sexy because he's so creepy and inappropriate nearly the whole movie. It was amusing at first but as the movie progressed it got to be frustrating. His advances are repeatly rebuffed but yet he has the illusion of grandeur to nsanely say with a straight face .... They are here for me and I'm not with them now but I will be after this.... It's almost changed from horror to a comedy.

What I took away most is its clear he doesn't own a mirror or have a friend....
