Suzanne Pleshette's first film.
The most interesting item in the film is the appearance of the real "Los Angeles Dodgers" who made an appearance in the film playing an exhibition baseball game in Japan. This film appearance was directly after the Dodgers abruptly moved to Los Angeles from Brooklyn which probably enraged New York filmgoers at the time.
This was the fourth of what would become eight Jerry Lewis films directed by former cartoon director Frank Tashlin.
In the scene in which the 1958 Los Angeles Dodgers are playing "an exhibition game in Japan", the actual ball field is the venerable first Wrigley Field, located in Los Angeles, at Avalon Blvd. and 42nd Place, from 1925 to 1969. The stadium was the first of its name (sorry, Chicago) and was used mainly for minor-league baseball games. Wrigley Field - Los Angeles also masqueraded as Yankee Stadium in the 1942 film "The Pride of the Yankees".
Gil Hodges' first film.
Lewis had worked as an usher for Suzanne Pleshette's father Gene at the Paramount Theater. When she auditioned, Lewis phoned Gene in disbelief.
