The first half of 'Fountain of Youth' is standard operating procedure, and the beefcake henchmen are pretty disposable. There are some light twists involving John Bly, Professor Ogden Coles and his daughter, but it's in the third act when things heat up. Bly's origins are revealed (maybe?), the orb displays another facet of its power and it all caps off with an ellipsis. It's got "until next time" written all over it.

I did really like the Brisco/Bowler/Socrates dynamic, even though it was very short-lived. But even in an occasionally underwhelming episode, Bruce Campbell still imbues Brisco with a likability that's just inhuman. The guy's a legend.

*Spoiler/plot- The Adventures of Brisco County Jr, The Fountain of Youth. Blye hires another gang to capture Brisco and find "The Orb". An element of fantasy 'fountain of youth' is mixed into the Ord's powers to make things more confusing to viewers.

*Special Stars- Bruce Campbell, Julius Carry, Christain Clemenson, Blake Adams, Billy Drago, James Hong, Terri Ivens. Brandon Maggart.

*Theme- Logical thinking and deduction can help criminal investigations.

*Trivia/location/goofs- The mine and rocky areas of this show were filmed at Gower Park's Bronson Caves. It's only 5 minutes from the Hollywood Sign mountain areas.

*Emotion- An element of fantasy 'fountain of youth' is mixed into the Ord's powers to make things more confusing to viewers. This eps was not up to the higher entertainment standards of other Brisco shows. Mainly because of the lead Asian actress's lack of on screen 'gravitas'. Not exotic enough. A shame. This episode was usually great due to "The Orb" and return of arch-villain, "John Blye". This series was better than most TV shows of it's early 90's time era. The best ones were the episodes that dealt with sci-fi elements mixed in with the mysterious 'Orb".

*Based On- The producers and writers wanted to recreate the entertainment of the 30s-50s theatrical cliff-hanger film serials. Most were westerns or sci-fi. They succeeded.
