The kids try to expose Pacifica Northwest's fraudulent claim that her great-grandfather was the founder of Gravity Falls. Meanwhile, Mabel tries to prove that she can be serious, but learns her silliness can help. Once they figure out the truth, the kids are about to be sent to a government facility in Washington D.C.

Mabel's line "Ben Franklin really WAS a woman" references an earlier episode in which Stan has the kids counterfeiting hundred dollar bills and criticizes them for making Franklin look like a woman.
Stan's car model is "El Diablo" (the Devil), and a reference to the classical Cadillac Eldorado. The letters are visible when Stan is trying to get his car out of the mud.
This remains the Only Episode of Gravity Falls where Dipper and Mabel do not encounter any supernatural monsters.
A bust of Frederick the Great, Emperor or Prussia, is visible in the secret chamber, next to the book containing the truth about Quentin Trembley.
