This is the second consecutive episode in which Will Hutchins appears as "WIll Hutchins", though the two episodes have no thematic connection. He is not identified as the star of the Warner Bros. western Sugarfoot (1957), and plays an emcee/stand-up comic,

The Mary Kaye Trio plays "Kookie Love Song" and Kookie (Edd Byrnes) accompanies them with 'translations' for Miss Augusta. His singing is similar to that in his hit song "Kookie, Kookie Lend Me Your Comb".

This assignment is going to be a labor of love for one Gerald Kookson,III as he and Roscoe are with Stu Bailey as he gets a job acting as security for a valuable jewel collection. The jewels you see are worn around the necks of a bevy of beauties in a traveling exhibition. Only in Los Angeles one very valuable diamond is popped from its setting and the crook(s) want a hefty ransom for it.

As I said Kookie really has a problem keeping his mind on business, but serious business it is for Efrem Zimbalist. With a pair of accomplices from the show they have one clever hiding place for the jewel.

Doing this caper is a master jewel thief that the police in the person of semi-regular Byron Keith want very much to nail. Unlike a lot of mysteries there is no antagonism between the cops and the PIs. Keith works quite regularly with Bailey&Spencer and is always glad for the help.

A constant on this series.

I did not expect to watch one day an episode directed by Andre de Toth, only because I did not know he made some TV stuff. This one begins with a beauty contest where the girls also wear jewelery pieces, priceless jewelery pieces. But jewels means stealing or swindle, isn't it? Of course it can't be otherwise. It appears that somewhere during the show, genuine jewels have been replace by fake ones.

It is not actually an action flick, but rather a light mystery thriller, with this atmosphere, which I speak of for every episode of this show.

I don't think I will remind this story for a long time.
