Ines's gentle nerd boyfriend feels cheated on when he finds her in bed with Lukas, but due to Martha's meddling misses his last train home and must spend the night in her room. Hearing about a laborer who got a fat invalidity pension and a fortune from the insurance, Jef and Jeanne dream of him winning such a pot of gold, or creating it by faking his bad back being crippling. The news that Jeanne's bossy mother is selling her furniture and her plan to install a bathroom downstairs makes Jef fear the battle-ax-in-law would move in, so he decides to convince the medical labor controller he's able to return to word, even begs for a clean bill.
